A frequently asked question is: “Are we allowed to use your photos?” The answer is: “It depends”. The photos are free and open for people to use/repost on the internet, in their school presentations, for their own personal/academic research and pretty much for any purpose that does not include generating a profit. (Don’t forget to include proper citations if using the photographs for a research paper!)
You may not use the photos to make and solicit a calendar, sell a book, sell on t-shirts, to host a gallery of your own in which you charge people to enter or accept donations in exchange for viewing, in a documentary in which you will sell, or for commercial purposes without permission from Devin Mitchell, who owns the copyright.
